Quantity and Quality Surveys

A Quantity and Quality Survey is an essential survey activity aimed at determining both the quantity (weight or volume) and quality of the cargo loaded onto a ship or stored in land warehouses. These activities are crucial for ensuring the safety of the goods being transported, the well-being of individuals involved, and the overall safety of the goods on board.

The survey involves precise measurements and assessments to accurately quantify the cargo and evaluate its quality. Any procedural errors in measurements and calculations during these surveys can have significant consequences, leading to substantial losses for both the owner of the goods and the shipowner. Therefore, meticulous attention to detail and adherence to established procedures are paramount to minimize risks and ensure the integrity of the cargo and the shipping process.

Quantity Surveys

Survey to determine how much or weight of cargo is loaded on the ship or stored in the survey's land warehouse for Quantity is generally divided into 3 (three) parts, namely determining the amount of cargo (Tally), total volume, determining cargo weight with weighing method or the Draft method Surveys.

Quality Surveys

Survey determines good quality visually and lab based analysis standard used. ORCA has personnel who qualified and experienced supervisory work and equipment which supports this work. Type of cargo (goods) loaded on the ship or which are stored in land warehouses are divided into 3 category, namely in solid/bulk form (non liquid), liquid form and liquid gas form (liquid gas). For non-liquid cargo, generally loading on ships or in land storage (warehouses/stock yard/ stock pile) namely by bulk method (in bulk) ith packaging in the form of crates, sacks, containers, etc. so that is generally done Quantity and Quality Surveys.
