Stowage, Lashing and Securing Surveys
This type of survey is conducted to assess whether the cargo is properly loaded and securely tied up, ensuring it is capable of sailing safely. In essence, the survey aims to determine whether the loading, dunnage, and lashing procedures are sufficient to guarantee the cargo's safety during transportation from the loading port to the discharge port.
Typically, cargo that requires inspection for lashing includes equipment, machinery, and containers transported by sea.
Before the lashing process, an ORCA surveyor records the condition of the container, lashing equipment, and the equipment used to lift the cargo. Throughout the lashing process, ORCA takes photographs and verifies if the size of the cargo is suitable for the container. They also document the dunnage materials, lashing process, and any removable parts. Upon completion of the inspection process, ORCA issues a survey certificate, meeting the time requirements of customers.
